Pedestrian, 71, clinging to life after crash
An elderly pedestrian is in serious but stable condition at an Ottawa hospital after a car struck him at the intersection of Bronson and Somerset streets.

This is a hydraulic jack built completely from TeacherGeek components. It uses linkages and different cylinder sizes to create a mechanical advantage. Check valves allow the water to be pulled into the smaller cylinder and then pushed into the larger cylinder. A 4-way valve allows the jack to lower by releasing the water held in the cylinders.
